  What is the difference between browser-based software and the plain old kind we buy on CD-ROM?
  
  Browser-based software is accessed via the Internet and resides on a web server, instead of your hard drive. It's called browser-based because you use a web browser to view and use it. Here are a few of its advantages:
  
  • Browser-based software, like the Ulanji n-jine, can be accessed from any computer with access to the Internet.
  • It is operating system neutral, meaning the computer you use can be running Windows, Mac, etc.
  • It is hardware neutral, meaning that it doesn't care who made your box or what components reside inside.
  • Updates and bug fixes do not require you to do anything. Since nothing resides on your computer, you'll never have to download a patch or buy the next upgrade.
  • You only pay for what you use. Some studies indicate that most business software users make use of only a small fraction of an application's capabilities. With our n-jine you only pay for the modules you plan to use. If you find you don't use something you thought you would you can have it turned off.   Does the n-jine impose any design restrictions on a project?
  
  No. The n-jine can handle anything a designer wants to throw at it. The only design limitations involve your level of control. The more complex the design the more difficult it is to set up and the harder it is for you to manage. For instance, if your designer insists on using Flash to handle your navigation, making changes to that will probably be beyond your capabilities. In short, you have to weigh your ability and desire to manage the site against the use of bell-and-whistle technology. In our opinion, great up-to-the-minute content is far more critical to e-business success than cutting edge design.
