Problem: Coastal SC USA was formed as a cooperative marketing organization to attract groups and individual tourists from Europe to coastal South Carolina (Hilton Head to Myrtle Beach). The issues presented were numerous:
- Establish a web identity where none previously existed.
- Create navigation that yields immediate access to a large number of content offerings.
- Allow ongoing, centralized self-management of a very large web project.
- Prepare for de-centralized management in the near future.
- Market the site to a European audience.
- Please myriad corporate and affinity group sponsors.
Solutions: This was and remains a test of all of Ulanji's tools and services:
- Using Ulanji design skills, we were able to capture the desired look, feel and navigation.
- Utilizing Ulanji's portal technology we were able to combine 5 different websites into a seamless whole.
- Each site can be managed independently or centrally by the portal administrator.
- In the future, the portal can be broken down into smaller sub-groups so that individual corporate sponsors can manage their own content.
- Our marketing department has had to take a crash course in European web use patterns, search engines and marketing opportunities.
- All sponsors are happy so far.
